Apple already announced that MobileMe is not compatible with IE6.
When I dug into MobileMe’s source of the login page, I found this – for me a bit surprising – chunk of text:
Internet Explorer 7 is not fully supported
Internet Explorer 7 has known compatibility issues with modern web standards which affect Web 2.0 applications such as MobileMe.
You can use Internet Explorer 7, but you will not have access to all MobileMe features and will experience slower performance.
For the best MobileMe experience, please use Firefox 3 or Safari 3
Either Apple had time problems making things also work perfectly for IE7 or they really want to get users switching over
to a real browser.
When Google announced IMAP support for Gmail, the first thing I tried was to set it up with Apple Mail. But it failed–I couldn’t get it configured so that everything worked smoothly. So I was using the Gmail web client exclusively.
Now I want give it another try with these two helpful articles from the Google Help Center: Apple Mail 3.0 and
Recommended IMAP client settings
One hint: At one point the article says
DO save draft messages on the server. If you want your drafts in your mail client to sync correctly with Gmail’s web interface, set your client to save drafts to the [Gmail]/Drafts folder.
You can do this by expanding the GMAIL tree, select the Drafts folder under [Gmail] and in the menu click Mailbox → Use This Mailbox For → Drafts.
If you want to send from several email addresses, this hint is very useful.
I’m also using the letterbox plugin to add a 3rd column to Apple Mail for viewing emails. This is particularly interesting if you have a wide screen display.
I’m so glad you can change the default fonts for Todos/Notes in the new Mail.app! Thanks a lot for this Apple!

In my opinion, iTerm is everything Terminal.app should be. The only thing I don’t like about iTerm is its icon. To compensate this, I decided to make an icon replacement.
Today I tried to buy a MacBook. I visited four stores in Vienna and called three and the only answer I got was: “Sold out.”.
One shop assistant told me (in a very conspiratorial way) that Apple is going to update their Notebook family and build “Meron” chipsets into them.
Therefore they had to provoke a kind of delivery bottleneck..
Another one told me there is hardly a chance to get a MacBook in Austria or Germany.
Ordering it online via Apple Store takes 10 days. Too long. I already sold my PowerBook 15" and I need a new tool to work.
However, I’ll try again tomorrow.
Would be interesting if anyone expirienced the same.
